My dream was to play big band music. I left school to tour with the Don Reed Band and played at the Empire Room for 15 years. While in the band in the early 1950s, I established a relationship with Ameriprise Financial. My advisor, Chris¹, helped me put my various investment accounts in order. He also recommended long-term care insurance, which allowed me to maintain my assets when my wife developed Alzheimer's disease and I could no longer care for her at home. Today I still play an occasional concert, and I credit Ameriprise Financial for helping me support my family through a critical time.
